How was your experience with the North American Spine Team?
Patient Care Manager: The Patient Care Manager took care of everything and when I had questions she answered them quickly. She was very professional and easy to work with.
Doctor: The doctor’s bedside manner was excellent and I’m very happy with my surgery.
Compared to Other Healthcare Experiences: The care I’ve received from North American Spine was some of the best I’ve ever had. This was my very first surgery and I was very surprised at the way I was treated and the comfort level the staff provided me with.
Why did you choose North American Spine?
North American Spine was willing to help me find a doctor I could work with under my insurance. Other similar services wanted all the money up front and North American Spine realized the importance of my health over my pocketbook.
What was your lifestyle like before surgery?
I was in constant pain in the 6 months or so leading up to the surgery. Before that my back would regularly “go out” and I would be in my doctor’s office getting help with pain management so I could get back to work. I couldn’t play sports or chase my kids around very well and I definitely couldn’t pick them up if they were asleep. My wife had to help me with everything.
What is your life like now, after surgery?
I have almost no symptoms and am back to my old hobbies. Some mornings I’m stiff and sore but after 5 minutes of moving around I’m good for the entire day. That may be old age though… Biggest difference I’ve noticed is that it’s nearing the end of the year and I haven’t used up all of my vacation in sick days because of my back! I have nearly two weeks left!
I can bend over and tie my shoes. Seriously, I stopped doing that because I was afraid that when I straightened up my back would go out. It actually did several times.
What would you say to someone contemplating having a procedure with North American Spine?
I asked questions, set up appointments to meet with a North American Spine rep and did not get off of the phone until I completely understood my procedure. I suggest you do the same: take advantage of the many resources available to you and once you make a decision to have the surgery you can be more than confident in that decision.
