Michael S. McKee, M.D.

Education

Dr. McKee completed his surgical internship at the Nassau County Medical Center and his surgical residency at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.  He followed his surgical training with an additional anesthesiology residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and an additional anesthesiology residency with a clinical track in Pain Management and Cardiac Anesthesia at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. McKee attended medical school at the University of San Luis Potosi, and continued his education as a research fellow at the University of Texas-San Antonio the following year.

Dr. McKee is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management.

Experience

Dr. McKee began his career as the Director of Pain Management at the Central Suffolk Hospital and Eastern Long Island Hospital nearly twenty years ago.  He progressed into positions in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in New York, and Staff Coordinator of Cardiac Anesthesia and Pain Management at the Stony Brook University Hospital.  Dr. McKee then took over a position in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Southampton Hospital  in New York.

Dr. McKee moved to San Antonio almost ten years ago, where he entered private practice focused in Pain Management.

Dr. McKee has an extensive background in medical research and is considered a leading pain specialist in San Antonio.
